Software Engineer – Energy Systems & Smart Charging
Do you want to help build the energy system of the future – for real? We’re looking for a key person to join our software team, someone who enjoys working close to hardware, taking ownership, and rolling up their sleeves when needed. We’re a small, tight-knit team solving big problems together. With us, you get both ownership and pace – without ego.
The Role
You will work on the core logic that powers our products: LexHub and LexBox. This includes control systems, real-time data, integrations, and operational reliability – everything required to ensure our chargers, batteries, and flexibility solutions perform reliably in real-world conditions.
A key part of the role is working closely with our hardware – developing software that runs directly in our products where charging, batteries, and control systems interact in real time. This is a role for someone who wants to see the direct impact of their code in live installations, not just in a test environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Build and improve control logic for charging, battery systems, and flexibility services
- Develop and enhance internal APIs and data structures
- Integrate third-party services
- Troubleshoot, test, and validate features in live installations
- Collaborate with the team to ensure stable operation and a strong user experience
We Believe You Have
- 1–5 years of experience in backend development, system development, or software close to hardware – we value drive over years of experience
- Experience working in smaller, fast-moving teams and taking ownership of the full development cycle – from idea and implementation to testing and shipped functionality
- Strong proficiency in Golang, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with system-to-system communication (e.g., MQTT, APIs)
- Curiosity to understand the full system: chargers, batteries, grid, control
- A drive to solve real-world problems that are critical to live operations
The Personality We’re Looking For
This is the most important part for us. You are someone who:
- Takes initiative and enjoys ownership
- Is humble, confident, and easy to collaborate with
- Is curious, courageous, and enjoys testing, learning, and improving
- Thrives in an environment where decisions move fast and teamwork is standard
- Enjoys making complex technology work reliably, even when conditions aren’t perfect
What We Offer
- The opportunity to build next-generation energy systems – hands-on and tangible
- Close collaboration with an experienced team passionate about technology and societal impact
- An environment with high responsibility and strong trust
- A steep learning curve and real opportunity to influence
- A flexible, supportive, and low-prestige work culture
- A workplace where we laugh a lot, work smart, and celebrate progress
Note: This position is 100% on-site at our office in Aröds Industriområde, Gothenburg. We strongly believe that physical presence builds better collaboration, faster problem-solving, and stronger team spirit.
