LexEnergy brings ultra-fast charging and smart energy management to ICA Lysekil

ICA Lysekil has strengthened its customer offering with a new ultra-fast charging solution from LexEnergy.

The installation went live in June 2026 and includes four charging points with charging power of up to 400 kW each, supported by an integrated battery system with 412 kWh of storage capacity

The new LexHub installation enables customers, visitors, and summer guests to charge quickly and conveniently while doing their grocery shopping. For Lysekil, a destination with high seasonal traffic and many visitors during the summer months, the installation adds important charging capacity in a location where people already stop.

For ICA Lysekil, the investment is about more than offering charging. It is part of a broader initiative to make the store’s energy use smarter and more efficient over time.

By combining ultra-fast charging with integrated energy storage and smart control, LexHub can support high charging demand while also helping optimize energy use behind the meter. The battery can be used to support charging, reduce power peaks and enable flexibility services that contribute to a more stable energy system.

“For us, this investment is about meeting future requirements while also creating a better experience for our customers and visitors. Lysekil welcomes many tourists during the summer, and being able to offer ultra-fast charging directly by the store is a valuable service. We chose LexEnergy because they provide a complete solution that combines charging with smart energy management and potential revenue opportunities beyond charging alone”  says Magnus Plith, Owner at ICA Lysekil.

A smart charging solution for a seasonal destination

Lysekil sees significant visitor traffic during the summer, when many people arrive by car and need reliable charging before continuing their journey. With ultra-fast charging available directly at ICA Lysekil, drivers can make a practical stop, charge quickly, and continue their trip with minimal disruption.

At the same time, seasonal locations often have varying demand throughout the year. During periods with lower charging activity, LexHub’s integrated energy storage and smart control can support the site’s energy management and help create value beyond charging sessions alone.

This makes LexHub particularly well suited for locations where charging demand is high at certain times of the year, while the site owner also wants better control over energy use, power peaks, and long-term operating costs.

More than a charger

LexHub is an integrated energy solution combining ultra-fast charging, battery storage, and intelligent control in one system. For ICA Lysekil, this means the store can offer high-power charging without making charging infrastructure the core focus of the business.

The integrated battery supports the charging system when demand is high, while also enabling smarter energy use across the site. Through energy optimization, peak shaving and flexibility services, LexHub can help the property use energy more efficiently and contribute to the stability of the electricity system.

The solution gives ICA Lysekil a new service for customers and visitors, while also creating a new revenue opportunity from an asset that works in the background. It allows the retailer to focus on its core business while the charging solution adds value to the site.

For Magnus Plith, the complete nature of the solution was an important factor in the decision. LexHub offered more than charging alone, with potential value from energy optimization, charging revenue, and grid-supporting services. The design of the system was also an important part of the overall impression.

Retail sites are becoming part of the energy transition

Grocery stores are increasingly important locations for public charging infrastructure. They are easy to access, already part of everyday life, and often located where people naturally stop. Adding ultra-fast charging at these sites makes electric mobility more convenient and helps remove practical barriers for EV drivers.

ICA Lysekil’s investment shows how retail locations can take an active role in the transition to electrified transport while strengthening their customer experience and site attractiveness.

“ICA Lysekil is a strong example of how retail locations can create value far beyond traditional charging. With LexHub, the store can offer fast and convenient charging where customers already stop, while gaining an integrated energy solution designed to support performance, cost control, and future energy opportunities,”  says Matilda Thorsell, CEO and Founder at LexEnergy.

Available now at ICA Lysekil

The new LexHub installation is now live at ICA Lysekil and available to EV drivers. With four ultra-fast charging points directly by the store, customers and visitors can charge while they shop whether they are local residents, commuters, or summer guests passing through Lysekil.
